Why We Do What We Do
Shark speaks on stories that motivate him to keep striving to help his players
There is a boy, Kofi, who started coming to training about two years ago. He was very quiet, his boots were falling apart, and he often looked tired. I learned he was living with his grandmother and would sometimes skip training to do small jobs to help her. One evening, after a session where he was exceptional, I sat with him and told him he had real potential. His eyes lit up, but then he looked down and said, “But Coach, I am just a village boy.” That phrase broke my heart. It made me realize our work isn’t just about football. It’s about changing that story they tell themselves. We found him a better pair of boots, and I made a deal with his grandmother that if he kept his grades up, he wouldn’t have to miss training for work. Today, Kofi is one of our team captains, full of confidence. He is no longer “just a village boy”; he is a footballer and a leader. That is why this matters.

Drinking Water
Clean water isn’t easily accessible in Frankadua, and small bags of water make a big difference for the kids health and performance on the field and in the classroom.
Despite only costing $0.05 USD per liter of drinking water, it is still difficult for these boys to maintain healthy hydration levels. Your donations will support these costs.
School Fees
Several of our players struggle to afford the school fees necessary to keep them in the classroom. Shark often supports them with his own money, and your donations will go a long way to help our players continue building their education.
Some of our students struggle to pay the approximate $150 USD annual school fees to continue their education. Your donations will help support our boys education and learning.
Field Mainenance
Maintaining our football pitch can be a challenge, especially when our mower goes out of service. Investing in proper pitch maintance is essential for keeping our players training.
Our fields are in regular need of maintenance. Through the income of generous donations, our pitches are safe and playable.
Transportation
As our boys continue to improve, we get invited to more and more tournaments and show cases throughout the region. While this is great for our program, it requires funds that are not always available to us. Your donations will help continue to expand the opportunities for our boys and our program.
We regularly struggle to cover the approximately $60 USD it costs to transport our players to their away games, limiting the opportunities of our players and our program. Your donations will help ensure our players are where they need to be so they can live their best athletic careers.
Football Academy
Shark F.C.’s ultimate goal is a self sufficient football academy where the players can train, learn, and grow their own food. Shark is slowly turning this dream into a reality and any support you give him will directly or indirectly move him one step towards his goal.
